Yaourt, master of the schwaurtz, will finally teach us the ways of his sacred art. In case you haven’t already figured it out, the schwaurtz package manager is a pun on the Mel Brookes movie “Space Balls.” Since the package manager that we are wrapping is named yaourt, we have decided to call our package manager GUI the schwaurtz, after Mel Brookes’ spoof on the force that was made popular by George Lucas. Instead of the schwartz, we will be calling it the schwaurtz.

In addition to building a solid package management GUI that will be lite and dependable, the schwaurtz hopes to do to GUI package management what yaourt did with regular package management. Including the Arch User Repositories in this project will not be as simple as just adding a yaourt wrapper to it. We hope to also add a simple yet effective community interface to the schwaurtz in order to compliment the whole AUR package management experience.
