Icons not showing with a single entry

Hey, I've got a weird bug on this theme, that I otherwise love.

On a Thinkpad X220T with a single-boot Arch Linux install, the rEFInd menu is blank with this theme : only the background shows and nothing can be done except hard-reset the computer.

After that I plugged in my Arch install USB to troubleshoot, and with it plugged the menu shows properly ! It looks like with a single entry, something is blocking the menu loading.

I've been able to work around this by commenting out either this line :

selection_small themes/refind-ambience/selection_small.png

Or this one (but it's ugly, obviously) :

icons_dir themes/refind-ambience/icons

Do you have any idea why it's happening ?..
