I set up vless reality with a vps linux server on Debian 12, 3X: [v2.0.2] Xray: v1.8.6.
Tested in the Nekoray client on a laptop with Windows 7 sp3, result: system proxy mode works, TUN mode works.
Tested in the Nekobox client on an Android smartphone, result: works stably.
Tested in different clients, including Nekoray on my PC with Windows 10, the result does not work.
Description of the problem using Nekoray as an example:
when running in a client without the "system proxy mode" and "TUN" marks - traffic in the client visually goes, Url test shows the value "number",
The IP address does not actually change, when checking in the browser, my usual unchanged IP address is displayed. Result: Nekoray does not work.
when running in the client with the "system proxy mode" mark - enabled, "TUN" - disabled, traffic in the client is visually flowing, Url test shows the value "number",
The IP address does not actually change, when checking in the browser, my usual unchanged IP address is displayed. Result: Nekoray does not work.
when running in the client with the "system proxy mode" mark - disabled, "TUN" - enabled, Url test shows the value "Unavalable",
the Internet connection on the PC is lost. In the "Log" field in Nekoray, an error of the type "ERROR[0000] dns: exchange failed for self.events.data.microsoft.com. IN A:
Post "https://8.8.8.8/dns-query": dial tcp 5.61.32.246:443: connectex: The requested address is not valid in its context" is repeated. Result: Nekoray does not work.
Earlier in this case, also when checking the "Fake DNS" item in the TUN mode settings, the previous error "ERROR[0000] dns:... its context" is no longer there. However, when trying to test the URL, it gives an error like this:
"connectex: The requested address is not valid in its context"
I tried to find the answer myself, basically everyone writes that this is a network problem, its cause is apparently in the Windows settings, perhaps somewhere in the ip config or in the "hosts" file. As I understand it, the IP address to which I bind must belong to the network interface on my computer. By the way, the drivers on my system are updated, I tried a variety of NekoRay versions, but the same problem is everywhere.
Including Hiddify, Invisible Man XRay, v2rayN clients do not work. Also yesterday I managed to temporarily run Nekoray in system proxy mode after entering the following commands in Windows CMD:
ipconfig/flushdns
ipconfig/renew
and then rebooting Windows. However, after disabling Nekoray, the Internet on the PC completely disappeared, although the standard provider connection visually worked. It was possible to restore the Internet connection only after deleting the current provider connection and creating a new similar one. Then Nekoray stopped working again as described above.
But now for some reason this method no longer gives results.
I tried disabling the firewall and antivirus - no effect. The network connection type on my PC is PPPoE via an RJ connector.
I think the problem lies in the Windows 10 settings, but I can't solve it myself, I would be grateful for any advice. The network card used is built into the motherboard (motherboard model Gigabyte Gaming X), perhaps buying a separate network card can help me?
